This publication is intended to clear up the confusion many have concerning modern-day Christianity and to encourage you to strongly consider becoming a TRUE Christian.
“But I go to church.”
This saying is heard often when approaching people with concern for their soul. This response is uttered with the expectation that it deserves immediate approval that they will spend eternity in heaven. Seeing that there are churches on nearly every corner in America; and yet there is hardly a difference between the lives of these and the unchurched should make us question whether God really values church attendance. Also, one must consider whether their church has any similarity to the gatherings of Jesus’ true disciples.
The bible speaks of the early Christians as being:
• of one mind
• zealous of good works
• filled with the Holy Spirit
• escaped from the pollutions of the world
• a peculiar people and a holy nation
• a family that shares all things
• hated of all men for Christ’s sake
• willing to die for Jesus
• ready for the Judgment of God
Does it bother you that your church does not even remotely resemble the one of which the bible speaks? Could it be that you are just the member of another social club with religious lingo? You must forsake the hypocrisy and shallowness of this world’s church and become a true follower of Jesus no matter what the cost.
“But I believe in Jesus.”
Many people claim to believe in Jesus. However, the devils also believe in Jesus and tremble in his presence. You must believe in Jesus in a way that changes the way you act and think. Your faith in Jesus must produce a life that glorifies the Creator. If your heart produces covetousness, pride, lust, anger, gossip, falsehood, wicked imaginations or any other ungodly act, then stop deceiving yourself. Most people are just pretending that they believe in Jesus. God’s word says that, They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. But they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
“How Can I Be A Christian?”
If what you’ve read thus far has caused you to see the error in your ways, and you truly desire to please God, then be assured that God is drawing you. However, you must come to God on his terms. Jesus taught:
? He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. Are you willing to lay aside your goals and ambitions in exchange for the life of Christ?
? Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Do you earnestly desire to be a member of God’s family?
? I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Will you come to Jesus as your only hope for forgiveness and your only Lord to obey?
? I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Do you believe that Jesus Christ suffered and layed down his life for you and rose again to pardon and deliver you from sin?
? Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. Are you willing to give everything to the Lord?
We sincerely hope that after reading this tract you would decide to follow Jesus and have him present you as a true Christian. Remember, broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
